Gifts that Moms Really Want for Valentine’s Day

I thought it would be fun to share a non-traditional gift guide of the things a mom (like, me) actually wants for Valentine’s Day. trust me, no cheesy lingerie or heart box of chocolates included!

1. A day off from being mom -

Yup. You read that right. What I really want for Valentine’s Day as a mom is a day off. Even better, a day off that I can spend at home - alone! AMAZING. Husbands, take those sweet children and find some activities to do so mama can just relax in the peace and quiet at home. It’s been so long since I’ve had a day to myself at home, I’m not even sure what I’d do. A long hot shower followed by Netflix and a pizza in bed, while wearing my coziest robe is probably a good start. Guys, this is the best gift ever! And it’s basically free.

2. A gift that pampers -

Chocolates are nice, but a massage, facial or even afternoon at the nail salon is a real treat! Pampering is usually last on the to-do list as a mom and feels so special when it actually happens. Personally, I get a massage maybe once a year (and that was pre-baby) and it’s something I don’t often buy myself. Gentleman, let your ladies get pampered. Trust me, we will be in a much better mood to celebrate afterward!

3. Monthly Flower Subscription -

You read that right. I don’t want flowers just for special occasions. Give me the gift of a monthly flower subscription so that I can have something beautiful to look forward to every month! Everwild Florals is Kansas City’s best floral subscription service that delivers fresh, seasonal bouquets to your door. There is nothing that brightens my day more than seeing bright blooms at my front door. Especially since these are already styled and simply need to be dropped into a vase. Even if my house is a mess, flowers always make everything better. Guys, ditch the grocery store bouquet and do it right!

4. Something sparkly -

Being a mom is a 24/7 job. It’s amazing, but can also be really tough.  We deserve a little sparkle for all the hard work! I’ll never say no to jewelry. A dainty necklace or stackable diamond band is the best way to show your appreciation for a job well done. Trust me, she’ll love it and it’ll be worth it for you! I love visiting the girls at Glitters Fine Jewelry for all my jewelry wants and wishes.

5. A gift to remember  -

There is no husband that hates a family photo session more than mine. Why is it that men hate doing photo shoots? I will never understand. So, if you really want to show your love, do something that you do not want to do! A photo shoot is so special to us moms because it’s getting to capture the beautiful (and sometimes chaotic) moments of our family. It’s hard to take photos of yourself with your kids and it’s always fun to get the family dressed up for the occasion! Book a family photo session and maybe add a gift card for a new outfit!

6. A clean house

Raising a family is a job in itself. Keeping the house clean week after week is no simple task. What I really love receiving is help! Take cleaning off the to-do list by hiring a cleaning service. Even if it’s just one time, that will be so appreciated! Coming home to a clean house is the best gift and allows you time to do something you truly enjoy. Like finally digging into a book or getting that project done you’ve been pushing to the side.

There you have it! Just a few non-traditional Valentine’s Day gift ideas that a mom really wants! What is your favorite non-traditional gift you’ve received?
