Weekly Habits for Better Days

What I have learned through this time of quarantine is that it’s my daily (and weekly habits) that will help give me a sense of normalcy and make me feel better.

As a mom (and business owner) I have to be strong. I have to lead my team and take care of my son and everything in-between. So, while the hard days are hard and sometimes you have to let them happen - I need to find the things that make me feel good and help me keep going everyday.

I’ve been working on the following daily habits (trust me, this doesn’t always happen)

At-Home Coffee Ideas

I’ve tried A LOT of different coffee options from the grocery store…from pre-made to cold brew and a variety of coffee beans and K-cups. I learned how to make my own Cold Brew at-home, which is definitely the most cost effective option and easier than you would think! I also invested in a quality frother with a hot & cold option, which has been a gamechanger. I also learned which creamers have been the best from healthy to indulgent.

You guys, this former coffee shop queen can now enjoy her caffeine at-home! I thought I would share some of my favorite easy recipes, combos and what I love.

Life Lately: My Experience During COVID-19

I want everyone to know that I am thinking of you and I want ALL of us to get through this time stronger, together. To our incredible healthcare workers, my respect for you is endless. To our essential workers that are stocking shelves, delivering groceries and medicine, taking care of the elderly and making sure we can all stay home safely, thank you. I hope you know that you are so, so valued. Truly, we couldn’t do this without you!

This is just my experience and how my life has looked this past month. I know I am fortunate to have the things that matter during a crisis: a safe place to call home with warm beds, enough money to cover our bills and a pantry and fridge that has enough food for us to not go hungry. I am so thankful. Everyday I learn to be grateful for the little things in our lives that we take for granted. It’s humbling, truly.

Here are a few ideas to help…

2020 Goals

I don’t think goals have to be really exciting or big every year. Sometimes, it’s doing something small consistently that can actually improve your life for the better! In 2019, I challenged myself to make my coffee at home instead of going out and spending $5 on a daily latte. It may seem small and silly, but it changed my life in so many ways! Not only did I learn how to make a pretty good coffee at home, I saved money and calories. These are my goals for 2020…

Hostess Tips for the Holiday

If you are hosting for the holidays, don’t stress! Take a deep breath and remember that it can actually be a fun thing. I’m excited to be hosting Thanksgiving for the first time and have been actually looking forward to it! There’s so many pro’s to hosting… it’s your house (and your rules). Plus, it makes nap time (and keeping schedules on track) for the kids much easier. Oh, and getting to sleep in your own bed - not on someone’s couch or futon! I will always prefer hosting over going somewhere when given the opportunity. But I do know hosting can be stressful. So, I thought I would share a few tips to get your house looking its best for your guests! And a few ideas to make it a simple + fun experience as you play hostess this holiday.

Tips for Planning Family Photos

I didn’t truly see the value in planning family photos until we had Ford. Now, time seems to go so fast and he’s constantly growing and changing which makes me want to capture every stage. I knew without a doubt that we would do family photos this fall to capture this time and to include for holiday cards! Truthfully, I didn’t send out holiday cards last year but am making it a priority this year. I thought I would share my planning tips and some advice to make your session go smoothly. Of course, I highly suggest working with a photographer that you can trust to execute your vision. I ended up going with a new photographer in KC this year and was blown away by the results! Thanks, Kelsey!

Honest Thoughts on Faster Way to Fat Loss

I just finished the 8-week program called Faster Way to Fat Loss. I did it because I was lost when it came to getting my postpartum body back on track. I didn’t go into the program with the goal to lose weight, but to feel better, stronger and comfortable in my body. I also did it because I knew people (in real life) that have successfully completed the program and seen results. I figured, if it worked for them - why not try it for myself?
