Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Becoming a mom has definitely changed my style. I now have less time to try-on outfits and typically am getting ready during Ford’s first nap of the day, so am trying to super efficient. Plus, I am still breastfeeding and plan to continue to…so I am always looking for pieces that are versatile and functional.

I invested in some great pieces for fall that can easily be mix-and-matched together and work for business meetings to events and days at-home. Here are my favorites!

  1. Suede Jacket - I’ve been on the hunt for a suede jacket in a camel color all fall and when I saw this one for $40, I knew I had to have it! While I do typically invest in a quality jacket each season, I already have so many in different colors and wasn’t something I necessarily needed. Plus, this one actually feels buttery soft and well made for the low price point. This pairs well with denim and a basic tee for running around with the baby, but also can be layered over a dress for a date night. I’ve gotten so much wear out of this piece!

  2. Floral Dress - I bought this dress for a fall wedding and fell in love. It was just what I needed for my wardrobe this season! The subtle floral print is stunning and the fit is so flattering - especially for a new mama. I love the layered flutter hem for extra movement and the sleeves are sheer and well-fitted. I couldn’t love this dress more. Pair with OTK boots and a cardigan or booties and a jacket.

3. Leather Leggings - Leather leggings are a must in my fall wardrobe. They feel more elevated than regular leggings and work for a variety of looks. I’ve worn this pair with white leather sneakers and an oversized sweater for everyday to booties and a tunic blouse for work events. Plus, they suck you in and are very flattering on. This pair are a must!

4. Sweater Vest - I was on the hunt for a sweater vest this season and this one was the winner. This is such a staple in my fall wardrobe already! This sweater vest layers nicely over basic long sleeve tops and thermals, and is a great breastfeeding-friendly piece. I love the neutral color and it works with just about every piece in my fall wardrobe. I’ve worn with denim and tennis shoes to booties and my go-to leather leggings. It’s such a versatile piece!

5. Thermal Top - When I got home from the hospital this was the first top I bought in multiple colors! It’s so cozy and can be worn so many ways. It’s perfect for breastfeeding and I’ve worn it very casually with joggers (even for sleep) to dressed up with jeans and a fun jacket or vest. It’s SO versatile, soft and doesn’t lose it shape with multiple wears and washes. A MUST!
