KC Love: A few favorite finds to support Local

Now more than ever, we have to support local businesses.

My biggest fear is that some of my favorite small businesses will not survive this storm. It’s financially devasting to businesses that need to have their doors open to thrive. My heart breaks for everyone that is making difficult decisions, having to make hard pivots and hoping that things will work out.

While my income has also been affected by COVID-19 with many of my clients unable to make payments or choosing to forgo marketing, I am looking at how I spend my dollars even more than ever.

Instead of heading straight to your Amazon app, ask youself - is there a small business that offers that?

I am not perfect and there are times we’ve had to order something quickly, I get it. But I am making a conscience effort to support at least one local business each week. From purchasing a gift card or online order to placing a delivery from your favorite restaurant or donating to a charity or GoFundMe, there are so many easy ways to support small businesses during a crisis. (Please note: I have been told that ordering apps, like DoorDash and GruHub take a large percentage of the fee from restaurants, so if you can, try to order directly from the restaurant!)

There is no way I can recap ALL of the incredible offers that small businesses in Kansas City have created (many overnight as their only way to generate revenue), but I wanted to share a few that stood out to me.
